2020 CAEA Conference Sponsorship Opportunities

CAEA will be sponsoring several virtual events this year, including our July 22, 2020, summer mini-conference and our major fall conference from November 4–7, 2020. Our goal is to continue to provide quality professional development opportunities for our teachers, despite the uncertainty of what the Fall will bring with regard to the virus, paired with the decision of many districts to limit professional development. We are committed to bringing the best of professional development to our members and offering our business partners opportunities to meet and interact with teachers and administrators. Here are the virtual events we have planned.

Book Club Events

These are 5–6 week events focusing on current topics in education and art education. Our first event features Art for Children Experiencing Psychological Trauma with the authors, Adrienne Hunter and Donalyn Heise. If you are a publisher or author, consider partnering with us on a book club event. For information about how you can help sponsor a CAEA Book Club event, please email conference manager, Nancy Andrzejczak, [email protected].

Summer Mini-Conference

Teaching Visual Art Virtually, it’s your new SuperPower!
Wednesday, July 22, 2020
12:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Our featured speakers are Clara Lieu and Dr. Trina Harlow. We will have a small virtual exhibit hall and workshops. The cost of the event is low so we can attract attendees across the state and region. I have included sponsorship information with this letter. Summer sponsors will receive a discount on Fall exhibition.

CAEA Conference Supercharge your Power in Art Education November 4–7, 2020

Fall, CAEA State Conference

Supercharge your Superpower in Teaching Visual Art!
November 4–7, 2020
Wednesday–Friday 4 pm – 8 pm.; Saturday 9 am–6 pm.
Virtual Exhibit Hall will be open Friday and Saturday with additional opportunities on Wednesday and Thursday

We have planned focus themes for each day, so if you have lessons or demonstrations that would align, please let me know.:

  • Wednesday: Choice-Based Art Education

  • Thursday: the New California Framework

  • Friday: a fun virtual evening that will include games and interaction with our Virtual Exhibit Hall.

  • Saturday morning: conference keynote, Liz Byron, and Universal Design for Learning, followed by workshops related to her keynote.

  • Saturday afternoon: focus on Social, Emotional, Learning (SEL) in the Art Classroom

In addition to the conference themes, we will be hosting various workshops on a variety of topics, including exhibitor workshops and demonstrations. All workshops will have a live component so participants can ask questions and interact.

Socio, our conference technology company, is helping us plan a virtual exhibit hall. Participants will visit virtual booths and have the opportunity to select to see production demonstrations or schedule appointments during dedicated exhibit hall times. As sponsors, exhibitors can increase their visibility throughout the conference with banner ads, event sponsorship, and more. We will assemble a VIRTUAL SWAG Bag, so you can plan to include a coupon or advertising materials to go to all participants.

Since I don’t know how experienced you are with virtual conferences, I thought I would include two small pdf files from Socio that show what the participants will see and how virtual exhibiting might look. These images are only the tip of the iceberg with a swag bag, games, and other activities. We want our attendees to interact with our exhibitors and sponsors.
