  • In the past, art educators were able to exhibit 1–2 (sometimes 3) student works to represent your school.

  • Also make sure that your membership to CAEA/NAEA is up to date/renewed: https://www.caea-arteducation.org/join-renew

  • I will determine the week of January 27 how many works you can enter based on interest/participation emails.

  • All artwork for the event will need to be framed/hang-ready under glass (unless 3D-will be in display cases).

The deadline for the YAM 2020 Flag Contest submissions is January 31, 2020.

  • Please send a JPG or PDF of each submission, labeled with the student's name, to [email protected] by January 31, 2020.

  • For YAM flag submission guidelines, please click here. You may also visit the CAEA's Youth Art Month webpage for more information.

  • Once the California 2020 winner is selected, the winner's teacher will be asked to send a paper submission of the design, and CAEA will have the flag created.

  • Please remember that any teacher submitting an entry for a student must be a member of CAEA. Teachers may not submit entries for other teachers' students.

CAEA Student Artwork Rubric

In the absence of cross-committee norming, rubrics yield subjective results based on each judge’s unique interpretation of the rubric criteria.

It is expected that the CAEA Student Artwork Rubric will be used when judging all YAM show and State YAM Flag artwork entries.

CAEA Student Photo Release Form

Each year, the CAEA website displays photos of YAM winners and their teachers next to the image of each winning artwork. To enable CAEA to do this, this form needs to be completed, signed, and sent to the CAEA YAM Chair ([email protected]) by parents of YAM winners, along with a photo of the winner.
