Administrator “Ask Letter” For Attendees

As Art Educators, we are no strangers to advocacy.
We so often have to advocate for the importance of what we do, the resources we need for our classrooms, and for our own professional development.

CAEA is here to help build your advocacy toolbox: and this includes making it as easy as possible for you to request financial support from administrators for your conference registration, and membership costs. Remember: a personal request from educators is always more powerful than a mass email from our organization.

Subject Line: 2022 California Art Education Assoc. Conference Registration Request

Dear (School Leader Name)

I am writing to express interest in attending the California Art Education Association’s Fall 2022 regional conference at CSU Long Beach, this November 11-12th.

The conference is more affordable than ever this year, and is scheduled over a long weekend, so I would not need sub coverage in order to attend.

The conference sessions and keynote speakers align with my own professional development goals for the year, including:
   ● Social-emotional Learning through the Visual Arts
   ● Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Arts Education
   ● English Language Development through the Arts
   ● Digital Media Arts + Digital Tools for the Arts Classroom

I am passionate about my own continuing growth as an educator, and about providing a relevant, meaningful, and inclusive art education experience for our students.

If there is room in our professional development budget, I would appreciate financial support to attend this conference. Conference registration is $125 (two days, 50+ workshops, and lunches included), and CAEA annual membership is $110. Please let me know what expenses our school is able to cover, and how you would like me to proceed.

Thank you for your support,
