CAEA ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE
Art: 21st Century Intersections
RIVERSIDE NOVEMBER 9-12, 2012
CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
The Southern Area has been planning for the 2012 State Conference, which will be held at the Marriott Hotel and the historic Mission Inn, located in the heart of downtown Riverside on November 9-12, 2012. It starts on Friday and runs until Monday of the Veteran's Day weekend. No subs needed! The theme for the conference is “Art: 21st Century Intersections.” This theme reflects the core nature of visual art with other disciplines and the connections art makes with all subjects. At this time, invited keynote speakers include sculptor, photographer and filmmaker, John Frame, artist Alison Saar, and interactive installation artist, Scott Sona Snibbe.
This year, for the first time, we will be inviting members of the History Association to join us in a special History Institute: History on a Palette. This may prove to be a wonderful way to attract more attendees, connect with history educators, and strut our stuff.
You won’t need a substitute! Start saving now to make it affordable. Connect with other members to share rooms, and plan on having a wonderfully meaningful experience that invigorates your creative juices, introduces you to other members, and gives you a voice.
